Structure
The WIRED Initiative is about partners working together to support the regional economy. It is designed to work across political boundaries and jurisdictions to develop a home-grown skilled workforce that benefits from the best jobs the economy is producing and helps regional businesses successfully compete in a global economy. It is also about changing the way we do business so that our delivery systems will evolve into sustainable partnerships that can continue to produce a skilled workforce far beyond the four-year WIRED grant period.
Governing Structure
The Metro Denver WIRED Initiative is overseen by several entities:
Leadership Council
The WIRED Leadership Council was formed to oversee the WIRED grant until its completion at the end of January 2010.
Solutions Teams
The Metro Denver WIRED Initiative formed four Solutions Teams to take action on findings and recommendations from WIRED research, industry, education and workforce panels, and the WIRED Leadership Council.
Panels
Early in the WIRED grant, eight panels (representing WIRED target industries, education, and the workforce system) were convened to identify skill and talent shortages, identify resources, and recommend plans of actions for WIRED going forward.
